WHAT IS GRASS-FED MEAT?
Most meat and poultry available in supermarkets comes from "factory-farmed" animals who are raised on feed containing hormones and antibiotics to accelerate the animal's growth. In contrast, grass-fed products come from animals who graze on fresh pasture and hay. They live natural, stress-free lives and are not treated with antibiotics, hormones, nor fed animal-by-products, so they produce clean, great-tasting meat.

WHY CHOOSE GRASS-FED MEAT?
Grass-fed meat is healthier for the animals because they are eating their natural diet, better for the environment and safer for you. Grass-fed products are lower in total fat and calories but richer in "good" fats such as omega-3 fatty acids and the cancer-fighting fat, CLA. The risk of mad cow disease or bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is virtually non-existent.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORGANIC AND GRASS-FED?
Organic products come from animals raised on organic feed (grain or grass) and like grass-fed products have not been exposed to antibiotics, hormones or animal by-products. Often, but not always, organically raised animals have access to more natural living conditions than "factory-farmed" livestock. Both grass-fed and organic products are healthful, great-tasting alternatives to conventionally-raised meat.
